The Women's World Hockey Cup 2026 qualifying tournament will be held in Gachibowli from March 8.

State Sports Minister Vakitii Srihari announced details of the Women's World Hockey Cup 2026 in Gachibowli. Eight teams will participate, and arrangements for high security and modern facilities have been completed.

From the 8th of this month, the details of the Women's World Hockey Cup – 2026 Qualifying Tournament to be held at the Gachibowli Hockey Stadium in Gachibowli were revealed by the state's Sports Minister Vakkati Srihari. Speaking at a press meet held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, he stated that teams from Austria, England, Italy, Korea, Scotland, Uruguay, and Wales, along with India, will participate in these international competitions scheduled from March 8 to 14. The minister mentioned that all teams have already arrived in Hyderabad and have begun training on the astro-turf ground that has been prepared to international standards. He added that high-security, modern accommodation facilities, and comprehensive arrangements for the athletes have been completed.


Minister Vakkati Srihari emphasized that, with the encouragement of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the importance of sports in the state has significantly increased, and all measures have been taken to successfully conduct this tournament. He urged the public to attend in large numbers to support the hockey competitions taking place in Gachibowli.
