South Central Railway GM Reviews Safety Measures Ahead of Summer Season

Ahead of the summer season, South Central Railway intensified safety measures with special focus on fire prevention and track safety reviews.

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway, conducted a comprehensive review meeting on train operation safety across the zone at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad,

Satya Prakash, along with Principal Heads of Departments, attended the meeting. Divisional Railway Managers of Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions participated through video conference. During the review, the General Manager focused on the safety precautions being implemented in view of the ensuing summer season. He directed officials to strictly enforce fire safety measures and regularly sensitize railway staff to prevent fire-related incidents.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining fire and smoke detection systems efficiently and instructed officials to strengthen trackside patrolling to avoid fire accidents. Emphasizing the safety of rolling stock operations, Shri Srivastava instructed officials to strictly follow loading guidelines for bulk materials and prevent uneven loading of wagons. He also reviewed the condition of points and crossings to ensure safe train movement. The General Manager further reviewed track safety issues, including cable damage incidents, trespassing cases and barricading works across the zone. He also assessed the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects such as yard remodeling, signal upgradation works and construction of pathways on bridges. Officials were directed to expedite the works and complete them within the stipulated targets
