SCRWWO Secunderabad Organises Seminar on Rainwater Harvesting and Waste Management

SCRWWO Secunderabad organized an environmental seminar on rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge and scientific waste management at railway stations.

South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SCRWWO), Secunderabad Division, organized a seminar at Sanchalan Bhavan on rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and solid waste management at railway stations.

 Secunderabad Division DRM Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan attended the programme as Chief Guest, while SCRWWO–SC Division President Smt. Sandhya Gopalakrishnan participated as Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, the DRM stressed the importance of water conservation and scientific waste management in promoting sustainable railway operations. During the seminar, Dr. Kiran Kumar from the Central Ground Water Board, Hyderabad, delivered a technical session on rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge methods.

 Dr. Aarati Bhandare of Amulya Boondh Foundation, Belagavi, spoke on solid waste management, recycling, composting, and scientific disposal practices at railway stations. The programme was attended by railway officers and SCRWWO members, highlighting the division’s commitment towards environmental awareness and sustainable development initiatives across railway establishments
