The Railway Protection Force Secunderabad Division, recovered and returned passenger belongings valued at ₹2.24 crore in 658 cases under Operation Amanat between January and June 2026. The recoveries included mobile phones, laptops, handbags, documents, jewellery, and other personal items left behind by passengers at stations and on trains.
According to officials, the division has maintained a strong recovery record through CCTV surveillance, quick coordination with station staff, prompt tracing of missing items, and transparent verification procedures. Since January 2024, the RPF has resolved 2,747 cases, facilitating the return of valuables worth ₹7.28 crore to their rightful owners.
The Senior Divisional Security Commissioner praised the team’s round-the-clock efforts and noted that the initiative has helped build passenger confidence in railway security services. Passengers have been advised to report lost items immediately through Railway Helpline 139 or by approaching the nearest RPF post for faster assistance and recovery.
