Heavy Rain Warning for Telangana.. High Alert in Hyderabad

The IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Telangana. Authorities in Hyderabad have been alerted to waterlogged areas and potential traffic disruptions.

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur in Telangana over the next 24 to 48 hours. Thunderstorms, lightning, and rain accompanied by gusty winds are expected in several districts across the state,

and it has also been indicated that heavy rains are likely in Hyderabad. Officials have warned that low-lying areas in Hyderabad may get flooded, and water accumulation on roads could disrupt traffic. Heavy rains are also expected in districts such as Adilabad, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Medak, and others.

In light of the rains, the GHMC, disaster management teams, and police department have been put on alert. Officials have stated that special surveillance has been set up at low-lying areas, lakes, streams, and canals, and they are prepared for necessary rescue operations.

People have been advised to avoid going out except in emergencies and to stay away from flooded roads, open manholes, streams, and canals. Officials have urged the public to stay updated on the latest warnings issued by the meteorological department.
