Hyderabad, July 29:
Heavy monsoon rains lashed several parts of Telangana on Tuesday, affecting daily life in Hyderabad and multiple districts. Waterlogging, traffic congestion, and overflowing drains were reported from several urban areas, while low-lying regions remained on alert.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued heavy to very heavy rainfall across parts of the state over the next two days. District administrations have been advised to remain prepared for possible flooding, strong winds, and disruptions caused by intense rain.
Authorities have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall, stay away from flooded roads and water bodies, and follow weather advisories issued by local officials. Emergency teams are on standby in vulnerable areas to respond to any rain-related incidents.
With the southwest monsoon remaining active, more spells of rain are expected across Telangana, bringing relief from high temperatures but also increasing the risk of localized flooding and traffic disruptions.
