Tehran | July 15:
Fresh tensions have emerged in the Middle East after Iran's Revolutionary Guard issued a warning that energy shipments across the region could face disruption if the United States continues its latest military and economic pressure campaign against Tehran
. The warning comes after Washington reportedly restored naval restrictions targeting Iranian maritime activity, a move that has sharply increased fears of confrontation in one of the world's most sensitive energy corridors.
At the center of the standoff is the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow but crucial sea route through which a massive share of global crude oil and natural gas supplies travel every day. Any interruption to shipping in the area could send shockwaves through international energy markets.
Energy analysts caution that prolonged instability in the Gulf region may lead to higher oil prices, increased transport costs, and renewed concerns over global fuel security, particularly for countries heavily dependent on Middle Eastern energy imports.
