Washington/Tehran, July 16:
The United States military has announced the completion of a new round of operations targeting key Iranian military infrastructure across multiple locations. According to U.S. Central Command, the strikes focused on command facilities, air defence positions, missile capabilities, drone assets and coastal monitoring installations.
The operation was aimed at reducing Iran's military capabilities linked to missile launches, drone operations and maritime surveillance in strategically important areas. Several sites believed to support regional military activities were reportedly struck during the mission.
Military officials stated that precision strikes were used to target facilities associated with command and control operations as well as defensive systems positioned along Iran's coastline. The latest action represents another escalation in the ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The renewed military activity comes amid growing concerns over security in the Gulf region and the safety of international shipping routes. Analysts warn that further escalation could increase instability in the region and impact global energy markets.
