The tragedy of severe floods in Nepal continues. The death toll from the sudden floods in the Nepal-Tibet border areas has exceeded 470. Meanwhile, with the water level of the lake formed by the floods rising, there is a looming threat of another major flood.

On the third day, rescue and relief operations are still ongoing. However, in light of the latest flood threat, temporary pauses have been given to rescue operations in some areas. Authorities have warned people and rescue personnel to evacuate to safer locations.

In response to reports of the risk of water being released from the dam/barrier lake towards Tibet, Nepal police and the flood forecasting department have been put on alert. A high alert has been declared in the catchment areas of the Bhotekoshi, Trishuli, and Narayani rivers.

Rescue personnel are also relocating heavy machinery from the danger zones to safe areas. Authorities are preparing to take measures to evacuate residents from low-lying areas if the situation worsens.
