Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has reported a fresh rise in COVID-19 infections, with 10 new cases confirmed in the latest update, taking the state's total active and recent case count to 49, according to the Health Department.
The newly reported infections include three cases in Guntur, two in NTR district, and one each in Alluri Sitarama Raju, Eluru, Krishna, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam districts.
Health officials said 24 patients are currently receiving treatment in hospitals, while 16 others are recovering at home under medical supervision.
The department also clarified that four COVID-positive patients died due to other underlying medical conditions and not because of COVID-19.
Authorities have urged people, especially senior citizens and those with existing health conditions, to remain cautious, follow hygiene practices, and seek medical attention if they develop symptoms.
The Health Department said the situation is being closely monitored and appealed to the public not to panic while continuing to follow preventive measures.
