New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be held accountable for the alleged corruption and irregularities linked to development and construction activities in Ayodhya.
Speaking on the issue, Swamy claimed that reports of financial mismanagement and alleged violations in projects associated with Ayodhya raise serious questions about transparency and accountability. He argued that the highest levels of leadership cannot distance themselves from concerns surrounding such a high-profile national project.
The BJP veteran said that allegations related to land transactions, project execution, and administrative decisions must be thoroughly investigated. According to him, any wrongdoing, if established, should be addressed through a fair and independent inquiry.
Swamy further stated that public confidence can only be maintained when authorities respond transparently to allegations and ensure that all public funds are used appropriately. He called for greater scrutiny of decisions connected to major development initiatives in the temple town.
The remarks have sparked political debate, with opposition parties demanding clarity on the allegations, while BJP leaders have yet to issue a detailed response. The controversy is expected to intensify discussions over governance and accountability in projects linked to Ayodhya's rapid transformation.
