Mumbai on High Alert as Heavy Rain Batters City, Residents Advised to Stay Indoors

Continuous heavy rainfall has put Mumbai on high alert, with civic authorities urging residents to remain indoors unless travel is absolutely necessary. Intense showers have caused waterlogging in several parts of the city, slowing traffic and affecting public transport.

Emergency response teams have been deployed across vulnerable locations, while drainage systems are being monitored to prevent flooding. Authorities have also warned people to avoid low-lying areas, overflowing drains, and unstable structures during the ongoing spell of rain. 

Weather officials have forecast more heavy rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours, increasing the risk of localized flooding and travel disruptions. Residents are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Civic officials have appealed to citizens to avoid non-essential travel, remain cautious during periods of intense rainfall, and report any emergency situations to the appropriate helplines.
