New Delhi, April 27:

The Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to Priya Kapoor in connection with a plea filed by the mother of industrialist Sunjay Kapoor, escalating a legal dispute over a family trust.

The petition, moved by Kapoor’s mother, challenges certain decisions and control mechanisms related to the family trust, alleging irregularities and seeking judicial intervention. The apex court, after a preliminary hearing, sought Priya Kapoor’s response on the matter, indicating that it found sufficient grounds to examine the claims.

Legal sources said the dispute revolves around management rights, distribution of assets, and alleged deviations from the original intent of the trust. The petitioner has reportedly requested the court to ensure transparency and restore what she claims are her rightful interests in the trust’s functioning.

The case is expected to come up for further hearing after Priya Kapoor files her reply. The development adds a new layer to an already sensitive family legal battle involving high-value assets and internal disagreements.
