Four people have been injured, including one in critical condition, after an indiscriminate drive-by shooting incident in South London, sending shockwaves through the local community and prompting a major police investigation.

According to preliminary reports, the shooting occurred when unidentified attackers opened fire from a moving vehicle in a busy residential area. The victims, believed to be pedestrians and bystanders, were caught off guard in what authorities are describing as a “reckless and targeted violent act.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after multiple distress calls were received. All four victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where one remains in a life-threatening condition, while the others are being treated for serious injuries.

London Metropolitan Police have cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the suspects involved. Forensic teams are examining ballistic evidence and CCTV footage from nearby streets to trace the vehicle used in the attack.

Authorities have not yet confirmed a motive, but early investigations suggest the possibility of gang-related violence. Increased patrols have been deployed in the area to prevent further incidents and reassure residents.

The shocking daylight-style attack has renewed concerns over rising street violence in parts of the city, with community leaders urging stronger preventive action and faster intervention strategies
