Chennai | August 7, 2026:

: In a dramatic development surrounding Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, his wife Sangeetha has withdrawn the divorce petition filed before the Chengalpattu Family Court. The court has accepted the withdrawal and closed the current proceedings.

Sangeetha reportedly appeared before the court through video conference and informed the judge that she did not wish to continue with the case. Following a brief interaction, the court accepted her decision and formally brought the divorce proceedings to an end.

The case had attracted considerable attention because of the public profile of the couple and Vijay’s growing political prominence. Various claims and reports surrounding their personal relationship had circulated widely, but allegations reportedly contained in the petition should not be treated as established facts unless proved before a court.

The withdrawal comes after earlier indications that Sangeetha was considering ending the legal proceedings. The latest development therefore marks a sudden change in the direction of a case that had generated intense media and public interest.

With the petition now withdrawn, questions are being raised about what prompted the decision and what happens next. For now, however, the legal battle before the Chengalpattu Family Court has come to an end, leaving the next chapter of the couple’s personal relationship away from the courtroom.
