Bhopal: The death of model-turned-actor Twisha Sharma has taken a fresh and disturbing turn after the CBI filed a 636-page chargesheet in the case. The investigation has brought renewed focus on messages and conversations sent by Twisha shortly before she was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal.
According to the chargesheet, Twisha sent a deeply distressing message to her sister-in-law shortly before her death, saying, “Ask him to collect left over of his wife. But tomorrow. Let me die in peace right now.” Investigators have examined the communication as part of the circumstances surrounding her final moments
The case had already sparked widespread concern after earlier messages surfaced in which Twisha reportedly told a friend, “I am trapped, bro. Bas tu mat phasna”, indicating that she felt trapped and was struggling emotionally. She was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, 2026.
The CBI has chargesheeted her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, retired district judge Giribala Singh, under provisions relating to dowry harassment and abetment to suicide.
Twisha’s family, however, has maintained that she was murdered and has expressed dissatisfaction with the chargesheet. A second post-mortem conducted at AIIMS Delhi reportedly found no injuries indicating assault or struggle and concluded that the death was by hanging.
The investigation has also examined CCTV footage from the house, with discrepancies in the recorded timings becoming a major point of contention. The case continues to raise serious questions about Twisha’s final hours, the allegations of marital harassment and what happened inside the Bhopal residence before her death.
