Electric workers' issues must be resolved: Protest in Hubli.

A protest will be held in Hubli to address the issues of electricity workers, with a call for a strike in Nampally on April 8.

Electricity workers staged a protest in front of the Hubli DE office under the Telangana Electricity Artisan Employees Joint Action Committee (TVAE JAC), demanding immediate resolution of the issues faced by artisans, in-house, and piece-rate workers.

On this occasion, JAC leaders announced that a massive workers' strike will be held in Nampally on April 8 to address the workers' issues. They also stated that a hunger strike will be initiated at 9 AM on the same day. They demanded the conversion of artisan employees based on educational qualifications, regularization of artisan and in-house workers, and the implementation of OM service rules as per the APSEB service rules.

They also requested official recognition and full-time employment status for in-house workers in TGNPDC and TGS PDC organizations. Additionally, they demanded that contract opportunities be provided batch-wise to workers who joined before December 4, 2016, that piece-rate workers be paid the minimum wage as per GO No. 11, and that the 2026 PRC be implemented. JAC leaders stated that protests will be held at division offices from March 26 to 30, demonstrations at circle offices on April 2, an event at KTPS on April 4, and a major protest at the TGNPDC head office on April 7. They warned that if the government does not respond immediately and address the legitimate demands of the workers, they will intensify protests across the state. The event was attended by Hubli Circle JAC Chairman C.H. Venkata Reddy, Convener B. Ravi, JAC leaders K. Babu, B. Srinivas, K. Sriramulu, Srinivasulu, Ahmad, Santosh, Azeem, Narasimha, Sangeeta, Madhavi, Shiva, Balu, Ashok, Rajender Naik, Bharat, M. Rafi, Mallareddy, Bourai, and others.
