Hyderabad, May 15:
A fire broke out late on Friday night in two air-conditioned coaches of a special train stationed at Hyderabad’s Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station (Nampally). The train was scheduled to depart for Jaipur
. According to railway officials, the blaze erupted in the B5 and B6 AC coaches while the train was parked at the platform. Flames quickly engulfed both coaches, causing extensive damage before emergency teams arrived.
Fire and rescue personnel rushed to the station and launched an immediate firefighting operation. After intense efforts, the flames were brought under control, preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent coaches.
Fortunately, no passengers had boarded the train at the time of the incident, averting what could have been a major disaster. No injuries or casualties were reported.
Railway authorities have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest a possible electrical short circuit, though officials said the exact reason will be confirmed only after a detailed inquiry.
