The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has admitted that certain security vulnerabilities were identified in its online marking portal following allegations of unauthorized access by a cybersecurity researcher.
The board said the issues were detected in the digital evaluation system used for answer-sheet assessment and related services. Officials clarified that corrective measures have been initiated and technical teams are working to strengthen the platform's security
. The matter gained attention after claims surfaced that weaknesses in the portal could have exposed sensitive information and disrupted evaluation-related processes. The incident prompted concerns among students and parents about data protection and the reliability of the online system.
CBSE stated that experts have been engaged to review the portal and implement additional safeguards. The board also assured stakeholders that efforts are underway to ensure the integrity of examination-related services and prevent similar issues in the future.
Authorities are continuing to examine the reported vulnerabilities while enhancing cybersecurity protocols across the platform.
