Washington, July 3:
The United States reportedly alerted Iran to a potential security threat involving two of its senior officials—Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf—amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
According to media reports, U.S. officials believed any attack on the Iranian leaders could significantly escalate the regional conflict and disrupt ongoing diplomatic efforts. The warning was reportedly passed through indirect communication channels to encourage heightened security precautions.
The reports suggest Washington was concerned that a strike on senior Iranian figures could trigger a broader military confrontation. However, neither the U.S. government nor Israel has officially confirmed the reported warning or the existence of any assassination plan.
The development comes as tensions between Iran and Israel remain high, with both sides exchanging strong rhetoric and maintaining a heightened state of military readiness.
