Wayanad, Kerala: A politically charged poster targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has surfaced in Wayanad, carrying the message: “Kerala won’t forgive. Wayanad will be the next Amethi.” The poster has intensified political debate in the constituency represented by the Gandhi family.
The poster references Amethi, the former stronghold where Rahul Gandhi suffered a high-profile electoral defeat in 2019. By invoking Amethi, the message suggests that voters in Wayanad could similarly reject the Congress leadership in the future.
The poster also features Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has been increasingly active in the party’s campaign efforts and is seen as a key face of the Congress in southern India. Her appearance on the poster has fueled speculation over the opposition’s strategy in Kerala.
Political observers believe the poster reflects growing criticism from rival parties, which accuse Congress of taking Wayanad voters for granted. The constituency has remained a symbolically important seat for the Gandhi family since Rahul Gandhi chose to contest from there in 2019.
Neither Rahul Gandhi nor Priyanka Gandhi has responded to the poster. However, the development is expected to sharpen the political battle in Kerala, where Congress, the Left Democratic Front, and the BJP are all seeking to strengthen their presence ahead of future elections.
