Iran has set firm preconditions for participating in the proposed peace talks in Islamabad, signaling fresh hurdles in ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions
. Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Tehran will only join the negotiations if a ceasefire in Lebanon is fully implemented and Iran’s frozen financial assets are released.
He подчеркнул that both conditions were part of a mutually agreed framework and must be honored before any dialogue begins. According to him, ignoring these commitments would undermine trust and derail the peace process.
The demand comes amid continued instability in Lebanon, which Iran considers a critical component of the broader ceasefire arrangement. Ongoing military activity in the region has already raised doubts over the success of the proposed talks.
With Islamabad expected to host the negotiations, Iran’s stance adds pressure on all parties to fulfill prior commitments, making the path to diplomatic resolution increasingly uncertain.
