Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level and “warm and cordial” meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, marking a significant diplomatic engagement as both nations celebrate 75 years of bilateral relations.
The Pakistani delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, underscoring the strategic importance Islamabad attaches to its partnership with Beijing.
During the talks, Sharif reaffirmed that the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between Pakistan and China remains the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, highlighting continuity and long-term alignment between the two countries.
Both sides held extensive discussions on strengthening strategic coordination and accelerating high-quality development of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with a renewed push toward industrial cooperation, agriculture modernization, clean energy, digital transformation, science and technology, and space collaboration.
Sharif also expressed appreciation for Xi Jinping’s global initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and shared prosperity, while thanking China for its continued support for Pakistan’s peace efforts and regional diplomatic engagement.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming that the Pakistan–China partnership remains a “powerful force for peace, stability, and shared prosperity” in an evolving global geopolitical landscape, signaling deeper cooperation in the years ahead.
