Washington/Tel Aviv, June 1:
The United States has reportedly informed Israel that it plans to withdraw its military aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport if a new agreement with Iran is finalized, according to media reports.
Sources said U.S. refueling and support aircraft stationed at the airport would be relocated to military bases across Europe within 72 hours of the deal taking effect. The aircraft would remain on standby and could be redeployed quickly if tensions with Iran escalate again.
The reported move comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran aimed at easing regional tensions following months of military confrontations. Israeli media reports suggest preparations are already underway for the possible withdrawal of American aircraft from the airport.
The presence of dozens of U.S. military planes at Ben Gurion Airport has reportedly caused operational challenges for civilian aviation, with Israeli officials raising concerns over disruptions to commercial flight services.
Neither U.S. nor Israeli authorities have officially confirmed the reports. However, the development is being viewed as a potential signal of progress in negotiations between Washington and Tehran and a possible reduction in immediate military tensions in the region.
