Tehran | July 3 Iran has reiterated its opposition to foreign military involvement in West Asia, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying that lasting peace can only be achieved through regional cooperation without external interference.
Responding to a post by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on X about a regional security dialogue in Bahrain, Araghchi questioned the impact of outside powers on the region's stability. "
Has CENTCOM brought security or insecurity to our region? The answer is clear," he wrote.
The Iranian minister also said Iran's armed forces had shown that "outsiders cannot even protect themselves," arguing that regional countries should take responsibility for their own security.
Araghchi maintained that sustainable peace in West Asia must be inclusive and driven by countries within the region, free from external influence.
His remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and renewed debate over the role of foreign military forces in the Middle East following a security dialogue hosted in Bahrain.
