Pakistan is reportedly playing a behind-the-scenes diplomatic role in efforts to bridge Libya's long-standing political divide, with rival factions exploring a possible path toward national reconciliation.
According to sources familiar with the discussions, representatives from Libya's competing eastern and western administrations have been engaged in talks aimed at creating a unified political framework after years of instability.
The proposed roadmap is said to focus on establishing a transitional governing arrangement that could bring both sides under a single administration while preparing the country for future elections and institutional reforms. The discussions remain ongoing, and no final agreement has been announced.
Diplomatic sources indicate that several regional and international stakeholders are aware of the initiative, reflecting broader interest in restoring political stability in Libya after years of conflict and fragmented governance.
Libya has remained divided since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, with rival governments and armed groups competing for political influence and control over key resources. Multiple international mediation efforts have sought to reunify the country, but lasting political consensus has remained elusive.
Observers say any breakthrough would depend on resolving disputes over governance, security arrangements, and the distribution of oil revenues, which continue to be major sticking points in negotiations.
