Paris, July 14:

A massive wildfire has swept through nearly 800 hectares of the Fontainebleau forest in France, prompting a major emergency response as firefighters battled to contain the fast-moving flames.

Authorities said the fire broke out on Sunday near a highway running alongside the historic forest, with dry conditions and strong winds helping the blaze spread rapidly across woodland areas.

Emergency crews deployed extensive ground teams along with two Canadair water-bombing aircraft to support firefighting operations from the air and prevent the flames from reaching nearby populated zones.

Officials continue to monitor the situation as containment efforts remain underway, while investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire. No immediate reports of casualties or major property damage have been released.
