"Want pure petrol? Pay extra!".. New discussions on E20 fuel following Gadkari's comments.

Gadkari acknowledges that E20 petrol may reduce mileage by 3-5%. Comments suggesting that to obtain pure petrol, consumers must pay a premium have sparked new discussions.

India

New Delhi, July 15: Comments made by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari have become a topic of discussion as the consumption of E20 fuel is rapidly expanding in the country. He mentioned that there is a possibility of a slight decrease in mileage for vehicles using E20 fuel, adding that consumers who prefer completely pure petrol may have to pay an additional price.

Currently, the central government is promoting the use of E20 petrol, which contains a 20 percent ethanol blend, in India. While estimates suggest that mileage may decrease by approximately 3.5 percent in some vehicles due to this fuel, officials state that it will not significantly affect engine performance.

The government argues that increasing the ethanol blend will reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil imports and provide additional income to farmers. On the other hand, vehicle owners are expressing concerns about the decrease in mileage.

While the government states that "E20 is key for environmental protection and energy independence," vehicle owners are raising the question, "Why should we pay the same price for fuel if mileage decreases?" With Gadkari's recent comments, discussions about E20 fuel have once again begun across the country.
