New scientific study has revealed an interesting insight about human behavior — women may naturally show higher empathy than men. Researchers in Psychology found that women tend to respond more strongly to others’ emotions and distress. In several video-based experiments, participants were shown emotional situations and asked to react. The results showed that women consistently scored higher in empathy and compassion. However, when it came to understanding what others are thinking — known as Theory of Mind — both men and women performed almost equally. Interestingly, brain studies using Electroencephalography and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging did not show major differences in the early brain response to emotional situations. But when it came to real-life behavior, women were more likely to engage in helping activities, charity, and other prosocial actions. Researchers say the reason could be a mix of biological factors and social upbringing. From childhood, women are often encouraged to be more emotionally expressive and caring, which may strengthen empathetic behavior over time. Experts believe these findings could have important implications for fields like education, healthcare, and leadership, where empathy plays a key role in understanding people and making better decisions. In short: Science suggests women may have a natural edge when it comes to empathy — a quality that helps build stronger relationships and more compassionate societies....
