The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed tense scenes after members of the National Conference (NC) staged a protest against the reported military actions by the United States and Israel targeting Iran. During the ongoing session, NC legislators stood up and raised slogans opposing the strikes, calling for an immediate halt to hostilities in the Middle East. The protesting MLAs stressed that continued military aggression could further destabilize the region and threaten global peace. Slogans such as “Stop the war” and “Peace in the Middle East” echoed in the Assembly, leading to disruptions in proceedings. The Speaker had to briefly adjourn the House amid the uproar. NC leaders urged the international community to prioritize diplomatic dialogue over conflict and work towards a peaceful resolution. The protest highlights growing political concern in Jammu and Kashmir over escalating tensions in the Middle East.
