HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 26: Telangana BJP is gearing up for a major political offensive against the Congress, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah set to participate in a padayatra on November 2 to counter what the party calls a “false narrative” surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao announced on Monday that Amit Shah would attend the proposed march, which aims to challenge the Congress campaign against SIR and mobilise public support for the BJP’s position.
The BJP has accused the Congress of spreading misleading claims about the electoral roll revision exercise. The proposed padayatra is expected to serve as a platform for the saffron party to take its message to the people and intensify its political confrontation with the opposition.
The announcement sets the stage for a fresh BJP-Congress showdown in Telangana, with the electoral revision exercise emerging as a key political flashpoint. The BJP intends to use the programme to counter the Congress narrative and engage young people in the debate over electoral reforms.
