 A massive fire at a hotel in Delhi claimed the lives of at least 21 people, including 18 foreign nationals, triggering concerns over fire safety standards and emergency preparedness.

The blaze spread rapidly through the building, trapping guests and creating panic as smoke engulfed multiple floors. Firefighters and rescue teams launched a large-scale operation, evacuating dozens of occupants and rushing the injured to nearby hospitals.

Authorities have begun an investigation into the cause of the fire and are examining whether safety regulations were properly followed. Officials are also looking into reports of possible violations related to building occupancy and fire protection systems.

The incident has sparked fresh debate over safety enforcement in commercial establishments, with demands for stricter inspections and accountability. Rescue and relief efforts continued late into the day as authorities worked to identify victims and assist affected families.
