Mumbai | July 5:
Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a Ram Raksha Aarti event in Mumbai, accusing the BJP of attempting to weaken the Shiv Sena after coming to power and alleging that Hindutva has been misused for political purposes. Addressing supporters,
Thackeray said his party had worked tirelessly to help Modi become Prime Minister, but claimed that once in office, the BJP set out to dismantle the original Shiv Sena. He alleged that the move was driven by the party's refusal to remain silent over what he described as the misuse of Hindutva.
Thackeray asserted that the Shiv Sena alone has the courage to question those using Hindutva for political gain and said his party would continue to raise its voice without fear. Referring to the slogan, "Ayodhya is just the beginning, Kashi and Mathura are yet to come,"
Thackeray expressed concern over recent controversies linked to Ayodhya. He said if the current situation represents only a "glimpse," it raises questions about what could happen in Kashi and Mathura in the future.
The remarks add to the escalating political confrontation between the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the BJP, with both sides intensifying their attacks over Hindutva, governance, and issues surrounding Ayodhya.
