New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has agreed to urgently hear a petition seeking permission to shift social activist Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital to a private medical facility.

The plea was filed by Wangchuk's wife, who told the court that she has lost confidence in the treatment being provided at the government hospital. She requested that he be allowed to receive treatment at a private hospital chosen by the family, citing concerns over his health and medical care.

Safdarjung Hospital has denied the allegations and said Wangchuk is receiving appropriate treatment. According to the hospital's latest health update issued at 8:30 a.m., he is under the care of specialists at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital and is being provided all necessary medical intervention.

The High Court is expected to hear the matter on an urgent basis and decide whether Wangchuk can be transferred to a private healthcare facility.
