A.Vijayenderreddy : Senior Congress leaders, led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, staged a sit-in protest at Lok Kalyan Marg on Tuesday, condemning the alleged police lathi charge on students who had been demonstrating against the NEET examination paper leak.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, and MP Anil Kumar Yadav joined the protest, accusing the Centre of suppressing students' voices instead of addressing concerns over examination transparency and accountability.
The party described the police action as unacceptable, insisting that students demanding a fair and credible examination system should be heard rather than intimidated.
Congress leaders reiterated their call for an impartial investigation into the alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET examination and pledged to continue supporting students seeking justice.
The protest drew widespread political attention, with the Congress asserting that safeguarding the future of young aspirants must remain a national priority.
