New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge strongly condemned the police action against students protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar over the alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2026, accusing the Centre of suppressing democratic voices

. Kharge alleged that students peacefully demanding justice were met with force instead of dialogue. He criticized the use of police action against protesters and said the government should address their concerns rather than crack down on them.

 The Congress chief urged the Union government to ensure a fair and transparent investigation into the alleged examination irregularities and to protect the democratic right to peaceful protes

The remarks come amid escalating protests in the national capital, where students continue to demand accountability over the conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 examination.
