New Delhi: BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has described the tense situation she experienced during the protests in the national capital, claiming that Members of Parliament were temporarily confined inside a Parliament building as demonstrators attempted to march towards the Parliament complex.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament on Tuesday, Ranaut said the situation became alarming when activists of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), protesting over the alleged NEET examination irregularities, tried to move towards Parliament. She said security officials locked the building as a precautionary measure, leaving MPs inside until the situation was brought under control. "

You were also inside at that time and must have seen how frightened everyone was. For security reasons, the gates were closed and all MPs had to remain inside. Even after the House was adjourned, we could not leave. At one point, there was fear that protesters might attack us," Ranaut said.

She praised the Delhi Police for handling the situation professionally and preventing any untoward incident.

"The Delhi Police acted like a shield for us. They stood firm, controlled the protesters, and ensured that no one was harmed. I sincerely thank them for protecting us," she added.

The protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party, were organized to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination.

As protesters attempted to march towards Parliament, Delhi Police deployed heavy security and stopped them from reaching the high-security zone, leading to heightened tensions in the area.
