New Delhi: On the occasion of Global Tiger Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to wildlife enthusiasts and highlighted India's remarkable achievements in tiger conservation, reaffirming the country's commitment to protecting its rich biodiversity.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said India is proud to be home to nearly 70% of the world's tiger population, calling it a reflection of the nation's successful conservation efforts and deep-rooted tradition of living in harmony with nature.
He said India's tiger conservation model is guided by centuries-old cultural values and strengthened by the collective participation of citizens. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of science-based conservation, community involvement and sustainable development in ensuring the long-term survival of tigers and their habitats.
India has emerged as a global leader in wildlife conservation through expanded protected areas, stronger anti-poaching measures and increased public participation.
