Hyderabad: In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder case of the wife of a retired IPS officer in Hyderabad, police have arrested a key accused believed to be part of a Nepali gang involved in the crime.
According to investigators, the accused, identified as Sunil Pariyar, was taken into custody in Mumbai after an intensive multi-state search operation. Police teams tracked the suspects using CCTV footage, call records, and railway travel data.
Officials said the gang members fled Hyderabad immediately after the murder and travelled by train. They reportedly got off at Kazipet, where they split the stolen valuables among themselves before dispersing to different locations across the country to evade arrest.
The Hyderabad police had launched a coordinated manhunt after gathering evidence that a Nepali gang was behind the killing and robbery. Sunil Pariyar is believed to be one of the central figures in the operation.
Police are now questioning the accused to identify the whereabouts of other gang members and to recover stolen property linked to the case. Further arrests are expected in the coming days as the investigation continues.
