A newlywed woman from Noida has accused her husband of subjecting her to repeated physical abuse shortly after their wedding, claiming the violence escalated during their honeymoon when he allegedly pushed her down a hotel staircase.

According to the complaint, the couple married on April 30 and travelled to Sikkim and Darjeeling for their honeymoon. The woman alleged that her husband began assaulting her from the day after the wedding and continued the abuse throughout the trip.

She claimed that during their stay at a hotel, her husband allegedly pushed her down a flight of stairs, causing injuries to her head, back and knees. She also alleged that he threatened to kill her during the incident.

After returning to Noida, the woman said she decided to approach the police. She alleged that her husband reacted by assaulting her again, damaging her mobile phone and issuing fresh threats before leaving the house. Based on her complaint and medical examination, police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of law. Officials said an investigation is underway and further action will be taken after examining the evidence.

Police have not yet commented on the accused's version of events. The allegations remain under investigation.
