Authorities in New Jersey have arrested three teenage girls in connection with a shocking acid attack that left six women suffering from painful chemical burns in Jersey City.
According to investigators, the victims were sitting inside a car when individuals riding a moped allegedly carried out a drive-by assault, throwing sulfuric acid at the group before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders rushed the injured women for medical treatment, with several reported to have sustained serious burns.
Police later identified and arrested three female suspects aged 13, 14 and 15. The teenagers are facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury and related offences.
The incident has triggered outrage in the local community, with residents expressing concern over the violent nature of the attack and the young age of those accused. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional details will be released as the case progresses.
