Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of political defections, saying that it becomes difficult to know whom to trust when colleagues and close associates switch sides. In an interview with The Indian Express, Moitra reflected on the challenges of navigating political relationships amid shifting loyalties.

The TMC leader said that watching leaders she had worked closely with leave the party was particularly painful. According to her, such departures not only alter political equations but also leave lingering questions about commitment, loyalty, and personal trust within political organizations.
