Lucknow, July 15:

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary has voiced strong support for the proposed "One Nation, One Election" policy, describing it as an important reform that could strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency across the country.

Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, Chaudhary alleged that opposition parties have adopted a strategy of opposing every major initiative introduced by the government, irrespective of its potential benefits. He argued that simultaneous elections would help reduce the frequency of political campaigns and allow governments to focus more on development and public welfare.

The BJP leader pointed out that a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has been constituted to examine the proposal in detail and gather opinions from various political stakeholders before arriving at a conclusion.

The "One Nation, One Election" proposal aims to conduct Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections at the same time, a move supporters believe would lower election expenditure and ensure policy continuity, while critics continue to raise concerns over its practical and constitutional implications.
