Kavitha Alleges ‘Deliberate Delay’ by Election Commission; Questions Mount Over Telangana Jagruti Party

Kavitha accuses Election Commission of delaying Telangana Jagruti Party registration, but critics question compliance and accuse her of politicizing the issue.

Hyderabad, March 19: Fresh controversy has erupted after K. Kavitha accused the Election Commission of India of intentionally delaying the registration of her proposed Telangana jagruthi Party. However, the claims have triggered sharp criticism from political observers and rival parties, who allege that the delay may be due to procedural lapses rather than any bias. Kavitha stated that despite submitting required documents, the process has not moved forward, calling it a “targeted delay.” But sources indicate that party registrations often undergo multiple layers of scrutiny, and any discrepancies or incomplete filings can significantly slow down approvals. Opposition voices have questioned whether the party has fulfilled all legal and compliance requirements, suggesting that blaming the Election Commission could be an attempt to gain political sympathy ahead of upcoming electoral developments. Critics also argue that making allegations against a constitutional body like the Election Commission without concrete evidence could undermine public trust in democratic institutions. So far, the Commission has not officially responded to Kavitha’s remarks. The issue has now sparked a wider debate on transparency, accountability, and the credibility of new political outfits seeking registration.
