Hyderabad, April 4: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to implement Tirumala-style regulations in the vicinity of major temples across the state, prioritizing spiritual sanctity over political activity. During a review meeting on the development of the Gnana Saraswati Temple in Basara on Saturday, the Chief Minister emphasized that temple surroundings should remain free from political rallies, flags, and public demonstrations to maintain a devotional atmosphere.

Officials presented a detailed master plan for the temple’s development through a PowerPoint presentation, estimating a cost of ₹225 crore. After reviewing the plan, the CM suggested several modifications, stressing that all development works must align with traditional practices and scriptures while respecting devotees’ sentiments. He instructed authorities to plan for future needs by constructing wider roads to handle increasing pilgrim footfall.

The temple परिसर should also be enhanced with large-scale greenery by planting trees to create a serene environment. The Chief Minister further directed the establishment of a health center near the temple to cater to devotees, especially during peak events like Pushkarams and festivals, ensuring adequate medical staff availability. In a key directive, he ordered that all vehicles, including those of VIPs, must be stopped outside the temple premises. Only electric vehicles (EVs) should be allowed inside, and officials were asked to design a suitable transport system. He also suggested installing solar rooftops at parking areas to promote sustainable energy use. Reddy cautioned officials to ensure that the sanctity of the temple is not disturbed during development works and warned that any compromise on quality would not be tolerated. The meeting was attended by state Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and other senior officials.
