Ballari, April 18: A routine parachute training exercise turned tragic in Karnataka’s Ballari on Saturday after two Indian Army personnel sustained injuries during a mid-air mishap.

The incident occurred during a scheduled drill, triggering immediate emergency response from military authorities.

According to initial reports, the soldiers were part of a parachute training session when a technical glitch or miscalculation is suspected to have caused a rough landing. Fellow personnel and ground staff rushed to their aid within minutes, ensuring swift first response and stabilization.

Given the seriousness of their injuries, both जवानలు were airlifted to a military medical facility in Bengaluru for advanced treatment. Officials confirmed that the injured personnel are currently under close medical supervision and are receiving necessary care.

The Indian Army has reportedly initiated a preliminary inquiry to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap. Safety protocols during training exercises are expected to come under review following the incident.

While such training drills are essential for operational readiness, Saturday’s mishap underscores the inherent risks involved in high-intensity military exercises. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their investigation.
