Secunderabad Division Holds 171st DRUCC Meeting; Focus on Passenger Amenities and Development Works

The 171st Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting of Secunderabad Division, South Central Railway, was held on Monday at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Conference Hall, Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad.

The meeting was chaired by Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, in the presence of Smt. Shifali Kumar, Secretary and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, along with other branch officers of the division. During the meeting, the Chairman highlighted key achievements and ongoing development activities across the Secunderabad Division, including the progress of works under the Amrit Stations scheme.

 He also briefed members on completed passenger amenity works and projects currently underway. Out of the 18 committee members representing passengers, customers, and various associations, 12 members attended the meeting. Members raised several important issues such as demands for additional train stoppages, improved passenger amenities including lifts and escalators, train punctuality, extension of train services, increased frequency of trains, restoration of passenger and express services, and maintaining cleanliness at stations and on trains.

Railway officials informed the members that their suggestions play a vital role in decision-making related to passenger facilities and train operations. The meeting witnessed active participation from both members and railway officers during an interactive session.

The members expressed satisfaction over the developmental initiatives undertaken by the division and appreciated the efforts made in completing and advancing various projects across railway stations.
