The Guntakal Division of South Central Railway has launched a Parcel Cargo Express service between Renigunta and Nishchintapur (Agartala) to strengthen freight logistics and support traders and farmers from the Rayalaseema region.
The inaugural service was flagged off from Renigunta Railway Station on . The cargo service aims to provide faster and cost-effective transportation of agro products and FMCG goods to long-distance markets. During the inaugural run, commodities such as betel nuts, agarbattis, chocolates, and other consumer goods were transported. Railway officials stated that products including chillies, MRF tyres, ITC products, Cadbury confectioneries, Kimberly Clark, Enerlife, and Perfetti goods are expected to be transported through this corridor in the future. The project is estimated to generate nearly Rs.54 crore in revenue during the six-year contract period. The service will improve connectivity between Southern India and commercial hubs like Kolkata, Silchar, Guwahati, and Agartala. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava said the initiative would strengthen freight business and provide reliable logistics support for traders and industries.
