In a development that has sparked political interest in Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed state Director General of Police C. V. Anand to immediately begin a full-scale investigation into the case registered against Bandi Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
The case was registered at the Pet Basheerabad Police Station. During a review, the Chief Minister reportedly questioned the DGP over why no concrete action had been taken even though the complaint was lodged on May 8. DGP C.V. Anand briefed the Chief Minister on the details of the case and explained that the delay was due to the heavy deployment of police personnel for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad.
Sources said the Chief Minister was not satisfied with the explanation and made it clear that no case involving influential individuals should be allowed to stall. He instructed the police to proceed strictly according to law and ensure a transparent investigation.
Revanth Reddy also ordered the formation of special teams to conduct a comprehensive probe and submit findings at the earliest.
The case has now taken on political significance, with the Chief Minister’s direct intervention signaling that the Telangana government intends to closely monitor the investigation.
