Union Minister Kishan Reddy inspected the redevelopment works of Uppuguda and Malakpet Amrit stations.

As part of the Amrit Bharat scheme, Kishan Reddy reviewed the modernization works of the Uppuguda and Malakpet railway stations.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Friday inspected the redevelopment works underway at Uppuguda and Malakpet Amrit Railway Stations.

Accompanying him were Hyderabad Division DRM Santosh Kumar Verma, Gati Shakti Chief Project Manager L.S.S. Rao, South Central Railway CPRM A. Sridhar, and other officials. The Minister reviewed the station building constructions, parking, circulating area, and security arrangements.

Later, speaking to the media, he stated that the central government is allocating substantial funds for the development of railway infrastructure in Telangana. He announced that a railway budget of ₹5,454 crores has been allocated for Telangana for the financial year 2026-27. He revealed that new railway lines worth ₹47,984 crores, doubling, tripling, electrification, and station redevelopment works are ongoing in the state. He mentioned that in the past 12 years, 347 km of new railway routes and 556 km of doubling/tripling works have been completed in Telangana. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 40 railway stations in Telangana are being modernized, with Uppuguda and Malakpet stations being developed at a cost of ₹27 crores each. He disclosed that modern facilities such as foot over bridges, lifts, escalators, waiting halls, and ramps will be provided at these stations.
